The mission of Global Scholars Academy school counseling program is to provide a comprehensive developmental counseling program that addresses the personal, social, academic and career aspirations of all GSA scholars. The GSA school counseling program’s aim is to support mental wellness and to help GSA scholars, their families and the GSA staff combat mental health challenges of residing in neighborhoods and/or working in schools where the psycho-social stresses of daily life can be overwhelming. We support scholar success and achievement through continued advocacy within the school and community. In partnerships with school stakeholders and members of the community, school counselors can facilitate greater parental involvement, improve parent-teacher-child relationships, and ultimately enhance academic achievement.

Counselor Referrals
Parents, teachers and students can make counselor referrals by phone, email, or appointment. Students can leave a note in the mailbox outside the counselors' office. When referred, students are seen individually or in small group. Usually, the student and counselor work together to establish an individual goal related to the student's initial concern. While confidentiality is an inherent part of the counseling relationship, children are encouraged to share with parents. Children are generally seen no more than 4-6 individual sessions.
Say Something Anonymous Reporting System allows you to submit secure & anonymous safety concerns to help identify and intervene upon at-risk individuals BEFORE they hurt themselves or others.
